從當(dāng)時的社會政治形勢看,我國正處在第一次國內(nèi)革命戰(zhàn)爭高潮時期,國共合作的國民革命軍順利北伐,沖擊著北洋軍閥的統(tǒng)治。另一方面,封建軍閥和帝國主義勢力加緊迫害革命力量,斗爭很尖銳。無論是在1924年的女師大事件中,還是1926年發(fā)生的“三·一八”慘案中,魯迅先生始終堅定地站在愛國青年學(xué)生一邊,站在斗爭的最前列,寫下了《紀(jì)念劉和珍君》、《無花的薔薇之二》、《死地》、《可慘與可笑》等一系列文章,與反動勢力進行了毫不妥協(xié)的戰(zhàn)斗。當(dāng)然,這也就更加觸怒了封建軍閥,而被誣陷,被通緝。為了安全起見,魯迅先生在許壽裳等友人的敦促和幫助下,先是暫避在西城錦什坊的莽原社里,后又輾轉(zhuǎn)住進幾家外國醫(yī)院,最后于9月初到達廈門,經(jīng)林語堂推薦,在廈門大學(xué)國文系任教。
魯迅在廈大僅一百三十多天的日子里,一方面為革命風(fēng)暴在南方的興起而歡欣鼓舞,正如9月14日給正在廣州的許廣平的信中所說;”此地北伐順利的消息也甚多,極快人意。”
可是,另一方面,魯迅不久就發(fā)現(xiàn),廈門也骨子里和北京沒有什么兩樣,“沉沉如死”。廈大校長兼國學(xué)院院長林文慶,是個頑固守舊分子,他使廈大彌散著尊孔復(fù)古的空氣,令人窒息。林文慶與跟蹤魯迅而來的“現(xiàn)代評論派”分子串通起來,以種種卑劣手段排擠魯迅。魯迅此時又陷入渴望戰(zhàn)斗而不可得的新的孤寂與苦悶之中,于是,對于往事的回憶便開始在他心中醞釀了,這正如《故事新編·序言》中所說:“直到1926年的秋天,一個人住在廈門的石屋里,對著大海,翻著古書,四近無生人氣,心里空空洞洞。”“這時我不愿想到目前,于是回憶在心中出土了”?!冻ㄏκ啊沸∫羞€有如下說明:“……這回便輪到陸續(xù)載在《莽原》上的《舊事重提》,我還替他改了一個名稱:《朝花夕拾》?!薄斑@十篇就是從記憶中抄出來的,……后五篇卻在廈門大學(xué)的圖書館的樓上,已經(jīng)是被學(xué)者擠出集團之后了?!薄俺ā?,即清晨帶露珠、色香“自然要好得多”的鮮花,指魯迅青少年時的事;“夕拾”,是說直到中年以后才在回憶中把它們寫出來
借以慰藉“夕時”“離奇和蕪雜”的心情。
魯迅在廈大期間寫的后五篇回憶性散文是:《從百草園到三味書屋》、《父親的病》、《瑣記》、《藤野先生》、《范愛農(nóng)》;此前在北京期間寫的前五篇回憶性散文有:《狗·貓·鼠》、《阿長與?山海經(jīng)?》、《二十四孝圖》、《五猖會》、《無?!??!冻ㄏκ啊分械纳⑽?,形式多樣,筆法靈活,抒情之中見諷刺,敘述之中顯深意,嚴(yán)肅的內(nèi)蘊常以幽默詼諧的語言出之,構(gòu)成了獨特的藝術(shù)風(fēng)格。

百草園和三味書屋是魯迅童年生活過的兩個地方。閱讀時抓住地點的變化可將全文分為兩部分。每部分又可按時間和事情的不同分為幾層。
全文可分兩部分。
第一部分(1—8段):回憶百草園的有趣生活。又可分四層。
一層(1段):總的介紹百草園情況。點出是“我的樂園”,充滿留戀之情。
二層(2段):寫熱天百草園充滿無限樂趣。

寫作特點
課文說的是“我家”后面的一個“很大的園”,里面植物、動物很多,在童年魯迅來說,有趣的事情很多,如果不能按照一定的時間空間順序來安排材料,勢必寫得雜亂無章,百草園為什么說是“樂園”,讀者也就很難從記敘中獲得清晰的感受了。
本文采取了由遠及近、由高到低、從靜到動、先夏后冬的順序,對百草園的景物作了有層次的描述。先寫遠遠望見的、粗線條的景物,如菜畦、皂莢樹、鳴蟬,再寫身邊、腳下、眼前的景物,如斑蝥、何首烏根、覆盆子果實;先寫靜止的,如石井欄,再寫動態(tài)的,如叫天子;先寫生機勃勃的夏季,再寫別有情趣的冬季。又如作者對捕鳥經(jīng)過的記敘,雖然僅僅用了兩個句子共100個字,但寫得很細致,很有層次。第一句,簡潔交代了冬季捕鳥的條件。第二句,著重寫捕鳥經(jīng)過。這之中,又是先寫捕前必要的準(zhǔn)備,創(chuàng)造招鳥環(huán)境和確保來鳥落網(wǎng)的可能,強調(diào)要先露出一塊地面再撒些秕谷,支棒要短,竹篩大而多孔,繩長,人遠遠牽著,看鳥雀下來后再猛然一拉。最后說明,只要掌握好以上要領(lǐng),罩住鳥是不成問題的。這一小段記敘,語序順正而嚴(yán)格,絕不能任意調(diào)換。
文章像是一位精明熱心的導(dǎo)游,引導(dǎo)我們對百草園的環(huán)境和童年時代魯迅在這里充滿情趣的活動,一步步地有了深切的了解。
全文前寫百草園,后寫三味書屋。就局部而言,寫百草園含三大塊內(nèi)容:夏天的百草園、美女蛇的傳說、冬天的百草園。寫三味書屋,先寫三味書屋座落的位置及格局陳設(shè),寫第一次行禮、第二次行禮,插敘“怪哉”蟲的傳說,后寫讀書生活(讀書、習(xí)字、對課),寫溜到后園里玩耍,再寫師生朗讀,寫孩子們偷偷在課堂上做戲、描繡像。作者就是這樣,把一幅幅生活圖畫展現(xiàn)在我們面前。
這一幅幅畫面,按照作者的思路,是有其內(nèi)在聯(lián)系排列在一起
的。這種聯(lián)系主要表現(xiàn)為內(nèi)容上合乎邏輯、順乎情理的承前啟后,同時作為一篇好文章,在形式上也要求有相應(yīng)的過渡文字,起到結(jié)構(gòu)全文的粘合劑的作用。
文章第一段,以回憶的口吻,簡潔概括介紹百草園的位置、規(guī)模、名稱、變遷、景觀,特別點出“那時卻是我的樂園”。那么,“樂”在何處呢?帶出下文。第二段寫樂在夏季。第三段,由“長的草”不去,因為相傳有“赤練蛇”,為下段寫美女蛇搭了“橋”。第四、五段正好寫樂在關(guān)于美女蛇的奇妙傳說。這傳說寫完,第六段稍加議論,作為前面的收束。第七段,以“冬天的百草園比較的無味”一句起步。關(guān)鍵是“比較”二字,跟誰比呢?顯然,是跟剛剛寫完的夏天的百草園比。于是第七、八段寫雪地捕鳥之樂。一直到第九段將被送進書塾而無限留戀地告別百草園一蟲一鳥,一草一木,幾行動人的抒情,完成轉(zhuǎn)而記敘三味書屋生活的過渡。
