“熱身”(WarmingUp)部分首先以下定義的方式闡述了什么是急救(FirstAid),然后,讓學(xué)生描述所給的六幅圖片。這一部分的設(shè)計(jì)的目的是給學(xué)生提供一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)來(lái)檢查他們自己的急救知識(shí)。
“讀前”(Pre-reading)部分主要讓學(xué)生回顧日常生活中可能發(fā)生的急救場(chǎng)景。通過(guò)圖片引發(fā)“燙傷”話題,繼而討論該怎么辦,自然地把學(xué)生帶進(jìn)了閱讀課文部分。
閱讀(Reading)部分節(jié)選自FirstAidfortheFamily。文章脈絡(luò)明晰,首先陳述皮膚對(duì)人體的重要性,然后介紹燒傷的各種起因,三種不同程度的燒傷程度以及它們所表現(xiàn)出的主要癥狀和所應(yīng)采取的急救措施。學(xué)生可以通過(guò)這一部分的學(xué)習(xí),了解一些閱讀技巧,從而提高閱讀效率和能力。
“理解”(Comprehending)部分有四個(gè)部分,各部分內(nèi)容深度,難度,對(duì)能力的要求逐層推進(jìn)。第一個(gè)活動(dòng)是排序,有助于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生在閱讀過(guò)程中通過(guò)抓關(guān)鍵詞來(lái)捕捉主要內(nèi)容的能力,并通過(guò)排序理解行文線索和各個(gè)主要內(nèi)容之間的內(nèi)在聯(lián)系;第二個(gè)活動(dòng)是“貼標(biāo)簽”,通過(guò)圖片幫助學(xué)生更好地理解三種不同的燒傷程度;第三個(gè)活動(dòng)是判斷正誤,幫助學(xué)生理解和記憶文中的細(xì)節(jié)性信息;第四個(gè)活動(dòng)是回答問(wèn)題,不僅檢查學(xué)生對(duì)文章的理解情況,而且培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的口頭表達(dá)能力。
“語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)”(LearningaboutLanguage)的詞匯部分設(shè)置了兩個(gè)詞匯練習(xí):第一個(gè)練習(xí)是學(xué)習(xí)構(gòu)詞法,練習(xí)同一詞根的動(dòng)詞、名詞和形容詞的拼寫(xiě)規(guī)律;第二個(gè)練習(xí)是填詞,要求學(xué)生根據(jù)回答補(bǔ)全問(wèn)題中所缺的單詞。這兩個(gè)練習(xí)既幫助學(xué)生鞏固本單元的詞匯,并通過(guò)構(gòu)詞法教給學(xué)生拓展詞匯的方法,同時(shí)也幫助學(xué)生理解和鞏固閱讀課文。語(yǔ)法部分是省略句,通過(guò)相關(guān)練習(xí),讓學(xué)生了解什么是正確的句子,什么是好句子這一語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象。
“語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用”(UsingLanguage)部分綜合訓(xùn)練聽(tīng)說(shuō)讀寫(xiě)的能力。閱讀和討論部分是一個(gè)真實(shí)的故事,17歲的約翰·詹森采取果斷的急救措施,挽救了安·斯萊德的生命,歌頌了約翰·詹森的機(jī)智勇敢和富于愛(ài)心,同時(shí)表達(dá)了這樣的主題:Asimpleknowledgeoffirstaidcanmakearealdifference.聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、寫(xiě)部分有機(jī)地結(jié)合在一起,檢查學(xué)生對(duì)急救常識(shí)和對(duì)急救措施的掌握。
“小結(jié)”(SummingUp)部分要求學(xué)生就急救知識(shí)、詞語(yǔ)和結(jié)構(gòu)三個(gè)方面進(jìn)行自我評(píng)價(jià),判定學(xué)習(xí)情況。
“學(xué)習(xí)建議”(LearningTip)部分就寫(xiě)作進(jìn)行指導(dǎo)。建議學(xué)生研究真實(shí)語(yǔ)篇(authentictexts),研究它的組成部分,句子結(jié)構(gòu)和所用詞語(yǔ)等,供寫(xiě)作時(shí)模仿。

將Pre-reading,Reading.Comprehending部分放在同一課時(shí)教學(xué),設(shè)計(jì)成一堂閱讀課。

第四課時(shí)語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)(二)──省略
將LearningaboutLanguage中的Discoveringusefulstructures及WB中的UsingStructures放在一起教學(xué),上一節(jié)語(yǔ)法課。并將WB中的WritingTask在本節(jié)課中同步處理或布置為課外作業(yè)。
第五課時(shí)聽(tīng)說(shuō)課(二)
將UsingLanguage中的Listening,Speaking和WB中的ListeningTask放在同一節(jié)課中,處理為一堂聽(tīng)說(shuō)課(以聽(tīng)為主)。
第六課時(shí)泛讀課
將UsingLanguage中的ReadingandWriting和WB中的ReadingTask上成一堂泛讀課。也可視時(shí)間需要把WB中的ReadingTask部分的閱讀文章布置為課外閱讀作業(yè)。
第七課時(shí)寫(xiě)作復(fù)習(xí)課
