quite和very的區(qū)別
相同點:
quite與very都是程度副詞。quite意為“很;相當(dāng)”,very意為“很,非?!?。就程度大小而言,quite比very小。
Thepenisquitenew.這支鋼筆相當(dāng)新。(表示它與剛買來時相差不大)
Thepenisverynew.這支鋼筆很新。(表示它與剛買時一樣新)
不同點:
無程度可言的形容詞用quite修飾,不用very.如:
He’squiteright.他很對。
Wearequitereadytogo.我們已經(jīng)準(zhǔn)備好走了。
quite與very在句中的位置不同。
quite+限制詞+形容詞+名詞=限制詞+very+形容詞+名詞。
It’squiteanicepicture.它是一副相當(dāng)漂亮的畫。
It’saverynicepicture.它是一副非常漂亮的畫。
quite還可以修飾介詞短語,而very不能。

注意:漢語的“互相”是副詞,但是英語中的eachother和oneanother均為代詞,因此他們在及物動詞之后可直接作賓語(如helpeachother);而在不及物動詞之后,則要借助介詞(如talktoeachother,learnfromoneanother等。)
else和other的辨析
①else可作形容詞或副詞,作形容詞時,常放在疑問代詞、不定代詞之后作后置定語;作副詞時也要后置。

Shehasnothingelsetosay.她沒有別的什么可說了。(else作形容詞)

②other作形容詞時,用于修飾名詞或某些代詞,但要前置。

③else后可帶“’s”,other不能。
