*meet往往暗示雙方從相反或不同的方向相對(duì)而行,其賓語(yǔ)通常是人或人格化的事物的名詞(如:aperson,abus,atrain,etc.)。
*meetwith有“遭受,經(jīng)歷”的含義,其后多接抽象名詞(如:accident,difficulty,misfortune,opposition,etc.);meetwith后也可接表示人的名詞,這時(shí)強(qiáng)調(diào)“遇到”的偶然性。此外,meetwith常見(jiàn)的意思還有“迎見(jiàn),會(huì)見(jiàn)”,這時(shí)可用meet取代。①Imetyoursisterthismorning.我今天上午碰見(jiàn)了你姐姐。②Thesuggestionmetwithdisfavour.這項(xiàng)建議受到冷遇。③Hemet(with)thePrimeMinisterofJapanforanhourandahalf.他和日本首相會(huì)見(jiàn)了一個(gè)半小時(shí)。

(6)that可引導(dǎo)一個(gè)限制性定語(yǔ)從句,代替某個(gè)先行詞(單復(fù)數(shù)名詞均可),it和one則不能。例如:①Aplaneisamachinethatcanfly.(that指代先行詞machine).飛機(jī)是能飛的機(jī)器。②Thestudentsthatdontstudyhardwillnopasstheexamination.(that指代students)不努力學(xué)習(xí)的學(xué)生不會(huì)通過(guò)考試。
