解題思路:解此類題時,可用“三步曲”:首先要根據(jù)語法知識弄清句子結(jié)構(gòu),看選項(xiàng)作何成分,結(jié)合搭配和句式習(xí)慣確定是何種非謂語動詞形式;第二步。根據(jù)非謂語動詞所表示的動作與句子謂語的動作發(fā)生的先后確定用非謂語動詞是何種時態(tài);第三步,按照非謂語動詞與其邏輯主語的關(guān)系確定語態(tài),如果邏輯主語不是句子的主語,那就可判斷要么是狀語從句.要么是獨(dú)立主格結(jié)構(gòu)。

SoletfreedomringfromtheprodigioushilltopsofNewHampshire.LetfreedomringfromthemightymountainsofNewYorkLetfreedomringfromtheheighteningAlleegheniesofPennsylvania.Letfreedomringfromthesnow-cappedRockiesofColorado.LetfreedomringfromthecurvaceousslopesofCalifornia.Butnotonlythat,letfreedomringfromStoneMountainofGeorgia.LetfreedomringfromLookoutMountainofTennessee.LetfreedomringfromeveryhillandmolehillofMississippi,fromeverymountainside.Letfreedomringandwhenthishappens,whenweallowfreedomring,whenweletitringfromeveryvillageandeveryhamlet,fromeverystateandeverycity,wewillbeabletospeedupthatdaywhenallofGod’schildren,blackmenandwhitemen,JewsandGentiles,ProtestantsandCatholicswillbeabletojoinhandsandsinginthewordsoftheoldNegrospiritual,“Freeatlast,freeatlast,thankgodalmighty,wearefreeatlast.”
2.DrMartinLutherKing,Jr.
ItwasDecember1955,andMartinLutherKing,Jr.hadjustreceivedhisdoctoratedegreeintheology.HehadmovedtoMontgomery,Alabamatopreach(講道)ataBaptistchurch.Hesawthere,asinmanyothersouthernstates,thatAfrican-Americanshadtorideinthebackofpublicbuses.DrKingknewthatthislawviolatedtherightsofeveryAfrican-American.HeorganizedandledaboycottofthepublicbusesinthecityofMontgomery.Anyperson,blackorwhite,whowasagainstsegregation(種族隔離)refusedtousepublictransportation.Thosepeoplewhoboycottedwerethreatenedorattackedbyotherpeople,orevenarrestedorjailedbythepolice.After382daysofboycottingthebussystem,theSupremeCourtdeclaredthattheAlabamastatesegregationlawwasunconstitutional.
African-AmericanswerenotonlysegregatedonbusesthroughouttheSouth.Equalhousingwasdeniedtothem,andseatinginmanyhotelsandrestaurantswasrefused.
In1957,DrKingfoundedtheSouthernChristianLeadershipConference(南方基督教領(lǐng)導(dǎo)會議)andmovedbacktohishometownofAtlanta,Georgia.ThiswasthebeginningoftheCivilRightsMovement.Inthefollowingyears,hecontinuedtoorganizenon-violentprotestsagainstunequaltreatmentofAfrican-Americanpeople.Hisphilosophyremainedpeaceful,andheconstantlyremindedhisfollowersthattheirfightwouldbevictoriousiftheydidnotresorttobloodshed.Nonetheless,heandhisdemonstratorswereoftenthreatenedandattacked.Demonstrationswhichbeganpeacefullyoftenendedupinviolence,andheandmanyotherswereoftenarrested.
TheCivilRightsActof1964waspassed.ItwasnotthefirstlawofcivilrightsforAmericans,butitwasthemostthoroughandeffective.Theactguaranteedequalrightsinhousing,publicfacilities,votingandpublicschools.Everyonewouldhaveimpartialhearings(申訴的機(jī)會)andjurytrials.Acivilrightscommissionwouldensurethattheselawswereenforced.DrMartinLutherKing,Jr.andthousandsofothersnowknewthattheyhadnotstruggledinvain.InthesameyearDrKingwontheNobelPeacePrizeforleadingnon-violentdemonstations.
