注意:combine著重指“結(jié)合為一”,而connect指不緊密的“聯(lián)系”,

※辨析:every與each
every與each都可與單數(shù)名詞連用,且意義相近,表示“每個”,
但是every強(qiáng)調(diào)整體,each則表示個別。
如果不特別強(qiáng)調(diào)某一意義時,every和each可以互換。如:
①Wewanteverychildtosucceed.我們希望每個孩子都成功。
②Eachchildwillfindhisownpersonalroadtosuccess.
每個孩子將會找到他個人的成功之路。
Each可以指兩個或兩個以上的人或東西,every卻不能指兩個,只能指三個以上的數(shù)量。
另外,如有其他限定詞同時修飾中心詞,each可作代詞取eachof的形式,而every則只能做限定詞。如:

過圣誕節(jié)時我父母每人都給了我禮物。
9.notonly…butalso…不但……而且……,連接兩個相同的成分,也可連接兩個分句。
△連接兩個并列主語時,謂語動詞和后面主語保持一致;
△連接兩個并列分句,notonly置于句首,通常用倒裝句結(jié)構(gòu),也就是說,把notonly引導(dǎo)的分句中的助動詞或be提到主語前面。

拓展:death是名詞,意思為“死亡、去世”。

①dying是die的現(xiàn)在分詞,用作形容詞,意思是“垂死的、即將死去的”。

②deadadj.意思為“死了的、無生命的”,表示狀態(tài),可以與一段時間連用。

dividevt.vi.(常與in,into連用)分開;劃分

注意:divide和separate均表示“分開”
divide指的是把人或物分成若干份,常與介詞into連用;
separate指的是將一個整體的物品分開或?qū)蓚€靠近的物品分開,
使其不在一起,常與介詞from連用。

②Afenceseparatedthecowsfromthepigs.圍欄把奶牛和豬分開了。
13.else的用法
else表達(dá)“其他的,其余的”的含義,通常用在不定代詞(something,anything,nobody,somebody,nothing等)或疑問代詞(what,which,who等)之后。
①Doyouwantsomethingelse?你還想再要點(diǎn)別的嗎?
②Iamtheonlypersonhere,thereisnobodyelse.只有我在這兒,再沒別人了。
③Whatelsedoyouwant?你還想要什么?
④Whoelsewillbehere?還有誰會來?
提示:else與other都可以表示“別的”。但是other修飾名詞,位于名詞的前面;
else修飾不定代詞、疑問代詞或疑問副詞,必須位于這些詞之后。
