所謂情態(tài)動(dòng)詞是指它含有一定的含意.可以表達(dá)某種感情和說話的口氣,但是它不可以單獨(dú)使用作謂語動(dòng)詞。
情態(tài)動(dòng)詞有:can(could),may(might),must(must),haveto,shall(should),will(would),need(need),dare(dared),oughtto情態(tài)動(dòng)詞無人稱和數(shù)的變化.不能獨(dú)立使用;它與其后面的動(dòng)詞原形合成謂語。情態(tài)動(dòng)詞的具體用法如下:
(一)can和could的用法
1.表示能力或客觀可能性,還可以表示請(qǐng)求和允許。例如:

①could也可表示請(qǐng)求。語氣委婉.主要用于疑問句.不可用于肯定句,答語應(yīng)用Can

(二)may和might的用法
1.表示許可。
表示請(qǐng)求、允許時(shí),might比may的語氣更委婉一些,否定回答時(shí)要用mustn’t表示“不可以”、“禁止”、“阻止”之意。例如:
