amazing用作形容詞,表示“令人吃驚的,驚人的”,amazing常用來修飾事或物;amazed也是形容詞,意為“(某人)感到神奇的,吃驚的”,常用于修飾人。如:

3.smell
smell用作及物動詞,意為“聞……,嗅……”;smell用作連系動詞,意為“聞起來”,后面加形容詞作表語;smell還可用作名詞,意為“氣味、臭味、嗅覺”等。如:

4.reply

5.surprised

一、一般過去時的構(gòu)成
一般過去時由規(guī)則動詞后加-ed/d或不規(guī)則動詞的過去式表示,除be動詞外,其余動詞沒有人稱或數(shù)的變化。如:
Igotupat6:00a.m.yesterday.
昨天早上我六點鐘起床。
Healwayswenttoworkbybikelastyear.
去年他總是騎自行車去上班。
二、動詞過去式的變化
動詞過去式的構(gòu)成有規(guī)則變化和不規(guī)則變化兩種情況。
1.規(guī)則變化
①大多數(shù)動詞直接在詞尾加-ed。如:want→wanted,talk→talked等。
②如果動詞以不發(fā)音的e結(jié)尾,則在詞尾加-d。如:live→lived,hope→hoped等。
③如果動詞以“輔音字母+y”結(jié)尾,則將y變?yōu)閕再加-ed;如果動詞以“元音字母+y”結(jié)尾,則直接在詞尾加-ed。如:study→studied,play→played等。
④如果動詞以“一個元音字母+一個輔音字母”結(jié)尾,且重音在最后一個音節(jié),則雙寫詞尾輔音字母,再加-ed。如:stop→stopped,plan→planned,chat→chatted等。
2.不規(guī)則變化
不規(guī)則動詞的過去式可以按其變化情況加以分類,以提高記憶效率。
①無需變化型。如:cost→cost,cut→cut,put→put,let→let等。
②元音變化型。如:get→got,drive→drove,give→gave,know→knew等。
③輔音變化型。如:make→made,send→sent,spend→spent等
④元音、輔音皆變型。如:buy→bought,keep→kept,teach→taught等。
⑤一些特殊變化。如:is/am→was,are→were,have→had等。
